Trail Work Day on May 9, 2007

The evening trail work on 5/11 was a big success! We had 11 hard working volunteers and 4 or 5 wheelbarrows, so we were able to place the fabric, stone, and limestone dust on over 100 feet of trail in one evening. The entire wet area is now covered with a "rail trail" like surface and includes a culvert pipe to drain a ditch that crosses the trail. The trail here should never be muddy again. We also have some stone left over, and plan to treat a few other much smaller wet areas on the trail in the future. Thanks to J.A. Rutter Co (www.jarutter.com) for donating the stone and limestone dust, to James Lasitis - Lasitis & Son Supply of Harrison City for the pipe, and a big thanks to all that helped.

In addition, three of us spent about 3 hours Sat 5/12 working on the new trail. Thanks Lou and Jereme. We then did a mountain bike ride of the trail afterward. The weather was perfect.
